Alevin

Good morning salmon! Welcome to the next stage. They look like a stick with a head and a sack lunch. They are one inch long. They live in a redd with rocks and woody debris because they need to hide from predators. Do you know how alevin get their food? Alevin get their food from the yolk sac. The alevin grow quickly as it gets its nutrients from the yolk sac. Fish and birds are the alevins predators. Different looking salmon have different looking alevin. Alevin are cool!

Eggs

The first stage in the salmon life cycle is Egg. They are orangish-redish. They are small and soft. They have dangers like birds,other fish,and even people.YUM! They have little black eyes. Their habitat is in a forest,the water is cool and clear. Trees stop erosion,and make woody debris. They live in a redd. There is a yolk sac attached to each embryo.  The yolk sack holds yolk,which is the embryos food. Fish and birds eat salmon eggs. Humans do to. Only 3 out of 3,000 eggs survive to be an adult salmon. Salmon eggs are cool!
