Red

As red as my friend’s T-shirt,

I feel red when I get laughed at,

Red is a bad feeling deep down inside,

It stings and it hurts but you can’t get it out,

That is red.

RED!

This is a link to a video about red feelings.

White

This is a metaphor:

White

I love white, its the day, not the night.

Some people say its a shade but I disagree!

I say its both, color and shade.

No game all colors are the same,

but white.

No colors are as cool as white.

Fry and Parr

Want to learn about fry and parr? Fry and parr are about the size of a quarter. They have teeth, scales, and fins. If the fry develop black marks they are called parr. They swim away from the redd to find food. They eat plankton, insects, and also fish eggs. Birds and fish like to eat them. They use their swim bladder for the first time.To the fry, to the parr!Parr

Alevin

Good morning salmon! Welcome to the next stage. They look like a stick with a head and a sack lunch. They are one inch long. They live in a redd with rocks and woody debris because they need to hide from predators. Do you know how alevin get their food? Alevin get their food from the yolk sac. The alevin grow quickly as it gets its nutrients from the yolk sac. Fish and birds are the alevins predators. Different looking salmon have different looking alevin. Alevin are cool!

Eggs

The first stage in the salmon life cycle is Egg. They are orangish-redish. They are small and soft. They have dangers like birds, other fish, and even people.YUM! They have little black eyes. Their habitat is in a forest, the water is cool and clear. Trees stop erosion, and make woody debris. They live in a redd. There is a yolk sac attached to each embryo.  The yolk sack holds yolk, which is the embryos food. Fish and birds eat salmon eggs. Humans do to. Only 3 out of 3,000 eggs survive to be an adult salmon. Salmon eggs are cool!

The Salmon lifecycle

First the salmon eggs drop into the redd (nest). Then they  pop out of the eggs and turn into an alevin. Then comes fry,and … POOF! Parr. Too fast! Smolt,Adult! And finaly spawner.Old,mushy, and worn-out.They will lay eggs and die. it will start all over again. There are 5 types of Salmon:Chum,Sockeye,Chinook,Silver, and pink.caleb steelhead

A Week in the Life Project: Clothing

Our class is participating in the Flat classroom project called A Week in the Life. This is a fun way to compare our life with others around the world. I am in the clothing group. Here is an example: It is very cold here so we wear warm clothes. We listen to the ideas of others and then compare them with our own ideas. We are learning how to connect with others around the world to support our learning.
